  • Growth phase – anagen phase

  • Resting phase – telogen phase

In this phase, hairs fall out when you wash, brush, or simply through the growth process (new hair coming) 10 to 15% of all hairs are on average in this phase.

When hairs are shorter in the growth phase or higher in the telogen phase, you lose more hair than average. You can then suffer from baldness in women

DHT is produced in the body by converting testosterone. This conversion requires the enzyme 5-alpha reductase.

Studies show that women with PCOS also make more 5-alpha reductase compared to women without this syndrome. As a result, these women also have a higher DHT level, which explains hair loss and excessive hair.
