Detox can be done in different ways, depending on goals, wishes and preferences.

For most people, improving health will be the goal. For example, during a detox cure, a lot of vegetable and fruit juice is drunk to provide the body with healthy nutrients.

Another goal can be to lose weight. 

During a detox, the organs get rest by fasting. This stimulates the liver to remove toxic substances. The body is also stimulated to remove toxic substances through stool, urine and sweat.

You can do a detox to relieve various health complaints. Think of:

If you have already followed a detox program before, you can fast for 2 days before you start the juices. During these days you only drink water (possibly with lemon juice) and detox herbal tea.

If you currently live on a diet consisting of fast food, the switch to a detox juice cure is quite intense. It is, therefore, a good idea to eat healthy food for a week in preparation before you start the juice cure.

This juice recipe also contains ginger. Ginger has many proven health benefits, including anti-inflammatory properties and aids in weight loss.

A big advantage of ginger is that it helps against nausea. This will make you less likely to feel nauseous when you get hungry. This helps to keep up the detox better.

Celery is an ingredient that is used in many detox cures, because of its diuretic properties.

Ingredients:

  • 3 stalks celery
  • 3 small red beets
  • 1 ripe pear
  • 2 cm of a ginger stalk
  • A lemon
  • A quarter of a cucumber
  • A piece of broccoli stem
  • 1 carrot
  • Half a yellow bell pepper

Preparation:

  1. Clean the red beets and cut them into pieces.
  2. Peel the pear and cut it into pieces.
  3. Cut the celery into pieces.
  4. Take a piece of broccoli stem of about 6 to 7 cm and cut it into pieces.
  5. Take 1 large carrot, clean it and cut it into pieces.
  6. Cut yellow bell pepper into pieces.
  7. Place these ingredients in the slow juicer.
  8. Put the juice from the slow juicer in a blender and add a piece of ginger about 2 cm long (cleaned).
  9. Cut the lemon and squeeze the juice over the blender.
  10. Turn the blender on high for 2 minutes so that the ginger is well ground.

Recipe juice #2: Beetroot and pineapple.

Pineapple also contains substances that have a positive effect on your mood. So nice for your environment, if you are no longer completely yourself when you get a feeling of hunger.

Ingredients:

  • 2 red beets
  • 2 cucumber
  • 2 apples
  • Half a pineapple
  • Half a lemon
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 2 liters of water

Preparation:

  1. Clean the red beets and cut them into pieces.
  2. Peel the cucumbers and apples and cut them into pieces.
  3. Clean the pineapple and cut it into pieces.
  4. Put these ingredients in the slow juicer and juice them.
  5. Put the juice in a large glass pitcher and mix it with about 2 liters of water.
  6. Squeeze half a lemon above and add a teaspoon of turmeric powder. Just stir and you’re done.

Recipe juice #3: Spinach and parsley.

Ingredients:

  • 200 grams spinach
  • 1 hand full of fresh parsley
  • 1 green apple
  • 1 cucumber
  • 1 lemon
  • 2 cm fresh ginger root
  • 2 teaspoons chlorella

Preparation:

  1. Peel the apple and cucumber and cut them into pieces.
  2. Put the spinach, parsley, cucumber and apple in the slow juicer to make juice.
  3. Put the juice in the blender.
  4. Clean a piece of ginger root and put it in the blender with 2 teaspoons of chlorella.
  5. Cut the lemon and squeeze the halves over the blender.
  6. Turn the blender on high for 2 minutes to finely grind the ginger.

Recipe juice #4: Pineapple with blueberries.

  • Half a pineapple
  • 150 grams blueberries
  • 150 grams of strawberries
  • 1 orange
  • 200 ml organic coconut milk

Preparation:

  1. Clean the pineapple and orange and cut them into pieces.
  2. Put the coconut milk in the blender and first add the pineapple pieces and mix until you have a nice smooth whole.
  3. Add the remaining pieces of fruit and blend until you have a nice smoothie.
  4. Add some ice cubes if you want to make a delicious cool smoothie.

Cucumber and celery are good sources of copper, manganese and vitamin A. Copper activates enzymes in your body cells and supports the immune system.

Manganese plays an important role in hormone synthesis and collagen production. And vitamin A is involved in the formation of new body cells.

Ingredients:

  • 2 stalks celery
  • 1 cucumber
  • 1 apple
  • 2 cm ginger root
  • Half a lemon

Preparation:

  1. Cut the celery, cucumber and apple into pieces and put them in the slow juicer and make juice from it.
  2. Clean a piece of about 2 cm of ginger root and put it in a blender. Add the juice from the slow juicer and squeeze half a lemon over the juice. Mix on the highest setting for 2 minutes so that the ginger is well ground.
  3. Add a handful of ice cubes if desired, this will improve the taste.

After this detox juice program, gradually reintroduce solid foods and animal proteins (dairy, meat, eggs, fish, cheese) into your diet.

Now that your body is completely purified again, you naturally want to keep it as long as possible.
